TCAITINERARY 2010

Here are some of the Campfire Escapes that will keep you coming back for more.

All of our trips are unique and varied with that special indefinable spark of adventure.  None of the Campfire Escapes include any "extreme" 4WDriving.  The trips are self catering and you will need your own camping gear. We supply a shower and shower tent (bring own water). Remember to bring your camera, plenty of film and a sense of adventure.

Stunning coastal vistas will enthral you as we explore the coast from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin. Steeped in maritime history from lighthouse to lighthouse, this coastal wonderland is a photographers delight with long white beaches and huge heath covered dunes reaching down to the turquoise blue of the Indian Ocean.

You'll camp under the Peppermint Trees, ease down limestone tracks, dig your toes in the sand and soak up the fresh sea air of this picturesque stretch of coastline.

Wineries, Deer Farm, Fishing and Fun are the order of the day when you go on a "Cape to Cape" Campfire Escape.

Suitable for camper trailers and "soft-roaders".

Windy to Warren

Come with Campfire Escapes for four days of 4WDriving fun. We travel the Forest Tracks around the Warren to a special campsite near Fish Creek, then out to Windy Harbour and Summertime Track to Malimup Beach.  From here it’s a glorious beach drive up the coastline of D’Entrecasteaux National Park with the possibility of two river crossings to add to the excitement.

With soft sand, river crossings and dunes to climb, you’ll need low range and a compressor. This is the perfect opportunity to hone your sand driving skills with expert advice always on hand to help you through. Book early as numbers will be limited.

Upper Gascoyne or Sydney Simpson Cliffs

2nd April to 11th April 2010

(The exact expedition will be determined by the weather closer to departure)

$1,495 per vehicle

Upper Gascoyne

UPPER GASCOYNE

This Expedition into country rarely visited by members of the public will take you to a rugged landscape of distant hills, hidden valleys and creeklines studded with crystal clear pools. A place where the wildlife, unused to human contact, come deliciously close for observation.

A strong well equipped vehicle and well-honed driving skills will be necessary for this trip.

SYDNEY SIMPSON CLIFFS

If the weather precludes a trip to the Upper Gascoyne we will be following Frank Hann to the Sydney Simpson Cliffs, an area rich in Aboriginal history.  We’ll visit Blue Robin Rock Hole, McKay Creek and hidden secret rock holes, plus other remote locations before popping out on The Anne Beadell and back to civilisation. Parts of this trip will be on old, difficult to find tracks with some cross-country work as well.

$2,494 per vehicle

Doctor Hicks CountryRemote Star

For all those lucky people who have been away with Campfire Escapes on our "Great Victoria Desert" expeditions, you will know the type of areas we find ourselves in on these long remote excursions. Well I can tell you for sure, that this one's going to be no different. If you haven't been away on this type of trip with us before, all I can say at this point in time is, that we shall be visiting some very remote off track locations. It's our belief that some of them, have hardly ever been visited by white man since the world began and definitely not by us.

All vehicles will need to carry water and supplies for 15 days remote travel and some to spare.

All vehicles will require Cross Ply Tyres (Not Radials) and preferably split rim wheels.

This trip is not suitable for camper trailers or "soft-roaders".

Vehicle places are going to be limited to 10 and will be inspected at a vehicle shake-down a few weeks prior to departure.

Plan to depart Perth 8.30am Saturday 26th June 2010

Wildflower Magic  3rd September to 5th September 2010   $395 per vehicle

4WD to a "Wildflower Wonderland"

West Australian Wild Flowers are some of the most spectacular anywhere in the world, provided you know where to look.  It’s difficult to miss the huge fields of yellow Canola or the wonderful swathes of colour as you take a drive through on the black top, but by venturing off road you will be entering another world.

Campfire Escapes not only hunt out those extra special places to visit and find that rare Orchid or Wreath Lechenaultia you’ve always been looking for, and those wonderful scenes of Everlasting colour, but offer the excitement of doing it in your own 4WD, off road, in the safety of a group of like minded people.  Picture postcards of Golden Canola, Shimmering Wheat crops and Salt Lake reflections can complement the incredible splendour of the Wildflower Wonderland  through the Mid-West and surrounding Mulga Wilderness.

Excitement and splendour are all part of this Wildflower Wonderland tour.  We chase the flowers according to the weather patterns, and the specific locations we are visiting are decided upon closer to the date of departure to maximize the beauty of the flowers in this magnificent weekend away.

This trip is suitable for camper trailers and "soft-roaders".

Shower & shower tent supplied (bring own water).

Departs 9.30am from Gingers Road House on Friday 3rd September 2010

 * Sands of D'Entrecasteaux  10th December to 12th December 2010    $395 per vehicle

Driving through the dunes

We have joined the very best from 2 of our most popular tours for this helter skelter ride through some of the most magnificent sand dune country Australia has to offer.

From the Wapet Track we travel via Lake Jasper where you will take on the Yeagarup Dunes and then wind down sand tracks to the mouth of the Warren River.  We explore the D'Entrecasteaux National Park and enjoy a relaxing (but sometimes adventurous) drive along the beach to the mouth of the Warren River.

Sand driving can be a real challenge, but with experts on hand if you need them, all you need to do is enjoy the views and some wonderful beach driving.  You will need to bring a tyre pump and pressure gauge along for this trip as we shall be dropping tyre pressures to tackle the sand dunes.

This trip is not suitable for camper trailers and "soft-roaders".  Call 9291 8303 for more information.

Shower & shower tent supplied (bring own water).
