Campfire Escapes Tour SATURDAY to SATURDAY 28 Jun- 12 Jul 2008 Take off  Saturday 8.30am Sorry Fully Booked	Great Victoria Desert  - 15 Day Expedition 28th June  -  12th July 2008 6 of the 15 days will be cross country with no tracks. $1,495 for one person in a vehicle $1,995 for 2 or more people in a vehicle Children 16 & Under are Free. Departing Perth on Saturday 28th June 2008 and proceeding via Laverton, this ‘off-road’ expedition will trace a rarely travelled route devised by Frank Hann during his explorations in the Great Victoria Desert between 1903 and 1908. In the years following up to 1916, this route was used by numbers of prospectors and geologists, including the raconteur William Carr Boyd, but usage dwindled after the survey of the Warburton road further north in 1930. Much of the route appears to have been almost completely forgotten until "Hann Historian", our Mr E, began tracing the explorer’s movements in this region in 1992. It is estimated that some of this country has been seen by less than 50 people alive today and most of those have been taking part in Mr E’s ten campaigns in search of Hann’s marked trees and rocks. "Hann’s Track", which is destined to become as popular with 4WDrivers as the Canning Stock Route, takes in hidden waterholes, vast spinifex plains and picturesque breakaways as it dodges dunes and passes through remote ranges. Campfire Escapes travellers will participate in the thrill of assisting in the opening up of "Hanns Track" before it takes its place as an established desert road All vehicles will need to carry water and supplies for 15 days remote travel and some to spare. All vehicles will require Cross Ply Tyres (Not Radials) The Cross Country section is around 200km and vehicles will need to carry enough fuel for 850km as that is how far it will be between fuel stations.
