We are EXCITED for 2010 the team at
Eureka have been working there booties off to gear up for
some outstanding stuff this year. Through out the year we will have
all the shows that we will attend in Perth and of course the dates
will be posted in plenty of time in our newsletter. We will also
have Eureka's mind blowing courses and much more.......Which brings
me to talk about our instructors, I might be a little bias......"we
have the best" they know there stuff and make the recreational
courses informative and a fun day out. They are Richard Nicholls,
Chris Svircas, Pete Deas and Ash Santilli. They bring there charm
and there wit but most of all there extensive knowledge of 4WD.

Our Advance Sand Course was held on on
the 30th and 31st of January 2010. Thanks to our Trainers every one
had a great time out there. They all came home with a little extra
weight...... Sand that is as during the night it got a little windy.
As usual we had a great bunch of people booked on the course so
thanks to Trevor & Jane Heydon, Rick Lazar, Richard & Kim Mattock,
Eric Gant & Rob & Maurice Van Aurich.
We also have some video footage taken by
Ben Ray and Brooke Vantwist which will be available to view in next
months letter.
On a personal note the team would like to
say congratulations to Richard and Lee on the upcoming birth of
there new baby.

Hello everyone,
Hope you all had a fantastic Xmas and
New Year & that Santa brought you all lots of toys (for your 4WD's
of course). I took some time off over the Xmas and New Year break &
managed to get in quite a lot of 4WD & camping in which was mostly
very enjoyable apart from the (hopefully) small amount of the 4WD
population that left some areas of pristine bush & beaches looking
like a rubbish tip!!

The worst thing about these areas that i
spent too much of my spare time trying to clean up as much as I
could. The fact that these areas are only accessible by 4WD"S ????
Now Iam sure the majority of us do the right thing & always take
home any rubbish that we bring in, but who are these people who are
leaving beautiful beaches littered with broken glass & left over
furniture & fire remains. ?
There are bins provided at the
entrance & exit points to the majority of these spots so there is
simply NO excuse for this kind of behaviour. Many 4WD clubs &
organisations spend much of their spare time doing clean ups over &
over only to have them spoiled again by the selfish & irresponsible
few.
Not a nice note to start the year on I
know but the bush is something I love & enjoy dearly & it saddens me
to see the state some individuals leave it in & obviously without a
care in the world.
TAKE NOTHING BUT A PHOTOGRAPH & LEAVE NOTHING BUT A FOOTPRINT.
Take care everyone, stay safe & will
hopefully cross paths with you all soon.
Pete.......

The
Winds of Change (pardon me).
Where would we be without change?
Nothing to play with in our pockets or drop into a street performers
violin case.
But no, I'm talking changes in the
patterns of life. Change that renews, re-invigorates and re-invents.
A big change last year for Campfire Escapes was the loss of our
partner and tail end Charlie - Ray Harris.
Ray has veered off the convoy of
commercial endeavour and joined the ranks of the comfortably
unemployed.
In his place we now have a true
"arse-end Andy" in Andrew Fardon of Off Road Equipment and his
lovely wife Jacqui.
Andrew and Jacqui's connection with
Campfire Escapes signals change, new trips, with new activities, and
fresh jokes delivered with boundless enthusiasm. And if we're
really lucky, Ray and Denise will join us on the odd trip to regale
our customers with their special brand of humour.
But for now it's "cheerio Mr 'Arris"
and thanks for eight wonderful years of your beaming smile, side
splitting jokes and your ability to take "short person" jokes that
were aimed at the chest, on the chin.
Andrew and Jacqui, myself and Susie
look forward to introducing new (and existing) clients to new
horizons and a heap of fun around the campfire in the years to
come.

By the by, due to unforeseen
circumstances, the wildflower trip for this year has been moved
forward one week to the 3-5th Sept. Based on last season that should
mean more flowers to look at and that's definitely a good thing.

News from the Mag.
Meanwhile, back at the coalface,
Western 4W Driver is on course to deliver another bumper edition at
the end of February.
New Prado, Triton and Challenger head
the new vehicle tests, destinations come from beyond Burracoppin,
down the Warren (all the way and trip noted) and well out east.
We look at travelling with gas (not
that sort), two reader's rigs, the Gascoyne dash, a new off road
camper and Woodsie gives her opinion of a weekend with the Marron
Man.
In short, 200 pages of 4w driving
fun. That's edition 74 of Western 4w Driver due out at the end of
February.
Not long
after we will be releasing the 3rd edition of 4WD Weekends out of
Perth which will include full updates of all trips, a new run north
of Ninghan
plus a few trips from the Western 4W Driver files for those who
don't follow our great little mag. (Take them out and shoot them at
dawn, I say.)
In the meantime enjoy your summer
daze and we'll catch up down a track somewhere.
Cheers Nick.........

Thanks for taking the time to read our
Newsletter, we hope you enjoyed it.
