Once you have finished please take a look around the Eureka 4WD Training site,
we have some great 4WD Courses and Campfire Tours

The pictures below are screen shots taken from my own setup in Oziexplorer.

I use the Garmin 2 Plus GPS.  You will need to change some settings to suit your own requirements, but I hope the following helps.

The best software that I can recommend to you is Oziexplorer and it's either available from their web site at http://www.oziexplorer.com/ or from the Chart and Map Shop in Collie St Fremantle.

You will also require the CD/DVD set of Geoscience 250,000:1 (541 Maps) again available from the above places.

Once you have these you will need to download the configuration files (FREE) from the Oziexplorer web site on the "Australian Page" of their site.

Please remember, DON'T rely solely on electronic navigation.  Have paper maps of the areas you intend to visit plus a compass and learn how to use them.

I have written a couple of navigation stories for Western 4WDriver magazine in editions 39 & 40 which may be of some assistance.  Back issues are available on line from http://www.western4wdriver.com.a

Hope this helps and have a great safe trip.
