This nationally recognised course is designed to support participants in obtaining their Heavy Combination (HC) vehicle licence with a restricted automatic gearbox endorsement. It covers the unit of competency TLIC3005, focusing on safe and efficient operation of heavy combination vehicles.

Training includes a combination of theoretical instruction, hands-on driving practice, and a final practical assessment conducted by an assessor approved by the Department of Transport. Participants will learn to manage vehicle performance, monitor traffic conditions, and apply defensive driving techniques in line with industry standards.

By completing this course, learners will gain the skills and knowledge required to operate a heavy combination vehicle confidently and safely, in full compliance with state and territory road transport regulations.\

Pathway
A Heavy Combination (HC-A class) vehicle licence allows you to drive a:

• Prime mover with attached single semi-trailer
• Heavy Rigid (HR) vehicles, including vehicles with attached trailer that has a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) greater than 9,000 kilograms
• Medium Rigid (MR) vehicle
• Light Rigid (LR) vehicle
• Car
• Moped.

You will also be allowed to tow:

• one other trailer in addition to the attached trailer or semi-trailer with a maximum GVM of 9,000 kg.
• an unladen converter dolly or low loader dolly.

This course is held over three days, including a practical driving assessment
