This course is designed to support participants in obtaining their Heavy Rigid (HR) vehicle licence with no restrictions on gearbox.
This is the most challenging of all the HR licence options, qualifying you to drive all types of HR vehicles, including those fitted with the traditional 18 gear Road Ranger manual transmission.
Due to the difficulty in learning this gearbox we do not recommend this option for beginners unless you must.
The course includes a blend of theoretical instruction, practical driving experience, and a final driving assessment conducted by an approved assessor under the Department of Transport.

Pathway
A Heavy Rigid (HR class) vehicle licence allows you to drive a:

• Heavy Rigid (HR) vehicle with 3 or more axles and a gross vehicle mass (GVM) greater than 8,000 kg
• Medium Rigid (MR) vehicle
• Light Rigid (LR) vehicle
• Car
• Moped.

You can also tow a trailer with a maximum GVM of 9,000 kg.

PLEASE NOTE: The total cost of this truck course is $2200. A deposit of $1500 is required at the time of booking. The remaining $700 must be paid in full at the end of Day 1 of the course.
