4WD Training

Occupational 4WD

Our industry-renowned Occupational 4WD Training Courses run daily, Monday to Friday, and are designed to support both individual participants and group bookings across all industries. Whether your team operates in remote locations, travels regularly on unsealed roads, or requires specialised off-road capability for workplace duties, our programs deliver the skills, confidence, and safety awareness essential for every environment.

All courses commence from our purpose-built training facility in Bellevue, Perth, offering easy access to a range of controlled training areas and diverse terrain. This ensures participants experience realistic, practical scenarios aligned with workplace requirements.

To support our training delivery, we provide a modern fleet of 14 fully equipped, 5-Star ANCAP-rated Mine-Spec 4WD vehicles

Participants are guided through each vehicle’s features and limitations to better understand safe handling, performance, and best-practice driving techniques across various terrains.

If preferred, we can also conduct training using your organisation’s own vehicles. This option ensures your team becomes proficient in the exact vehicles they’ll operate in the field.

With over three decades of operational experience, highly skilled trainers, and course content aligned to workplace safety standards, Eureka 4WD Training delivers practical, hands-on learning that keeps your workforce safe, compliant, and confident in all conditions.

We can tailor make course packages on and offsite to suit your individual requirements where required.

Workplace Defensive Driving

Develop essential on-road and off-road safety skills for operating vehicles in remote and regional environments. This course focuses on safe driving practices for gravel and dirt roads, including hazard recognition, speed management, vehicle control, and emergency braking techniques in low-traction conditions.

Participants will gain an understanding of fatigue management, wildlife hazard awareness, and the risks associated with water on road surfaces, along with the importance of thorough vehicle pre-start checks and correct tyre maintenance to suit terrain, load, and conditions. Defensive driving principles are reinforced throughout to support safe decision-making on both sealed and unsealed roads.

Designed for those operating vehicles long distances both on and off-road, travelling along gravel and dirt roads, this course builds practical knowledge and confidence to reduce risk and improve safety in real-world driving environments.

TLIF2010 Apply Fatigue Management Strategies

This course includes a custom-designed fatigue management component aimed at providing participants with a thorough understanding of fatigue-related risk in the workplace, particularly where driving and vehicle operation are involved. Fatigue is a significant contributing factor in many incidents, and this training is designed to build awareness, accountability, and practical risk-control strategies.

Participants will learn to identify the causes and contributing factors of fatigue, including long work hours, shift work, extended driving periods, sleep disruption, environmental conditions, and lifestyle factors. The course explores the signs and symptoms of fatigue, both physical and cognitive, and how these can impair reaction time, judgement, hazard perception, and overall driving performance.

A strong focus is placed on fatigue risk management techniques, including effective journey planning, work–rest scheduling, recognising personal fatigue limits, and implementing control measures before fatigue becomes a safety issue. Practical strategies are discussed for managing fatigue in real-world operational environments, particularly in remote, regional, and high-risk settings.

The course also covers the legal and workplace obligations relating to fatigue, including shared responsibilities of employers and workers under WHS legislation, duty of care requirements, and alignment with site-based fatigue management policies and procedures. Participants gain clarity on reporting requirements, decision-making responsibilities, and the consequences of unmanaged fatigue in the workplace.

This training equips participants with the knowledge and practical tools required to recognise, manage, and mitigate fatigue-related risk, supporting safer driving practices, improved wellbeing, and compliance with workplace and legislative requirements.
