Eureka 4WD Training’s recreational 4WD courses are charged per vehicle, making it one of the most affordable and inclusive ways to learn essential 4WD skills. By charging per vehicle, not per person, we ensure that everyone attending can have a turn behind the wheel, gaining valuable hands-on experience under the guidance of our qualified trainers.
Whether you’re attending solo, with a partner, friends, or family members, the price remains the same:
$295.00 per vehicle
This pricing model allows multiple drivers to share the learning experience, making it ideal for:
Couples or families wanting to learn together
Friends sharing a vehicle
New 4WD owners looking to build confidence with others
Anyone wishing to maximise value while receiving professional instruction
You’ll learn practical techniques in real-world terrain, ensuring you leave with the confidence and skills needed to safely enjoy off-road adventures.
Our Recreational 4WD Courses are designed specifically for real off-road driving, which means your entire day is spent off-road, learning in the same environments you’ll return to and enjoy in your own time. There are no classrooms, no simulated tracks, and no artificial training setups. Instead, we take you directly into genuine off-road terrain, where our trainers themselves go 4WDing.
You’ll learn practical skills in the exact conditions where they matter most, including:
Sandy tracks
Steep hill climbs and descents
Rugged bush terrain
Rutted trails and uneven surfaces
Real-world recovery situations
Training in authentic terrain ensures you gain true confidence, understand how your vehicle behaves off-road, and leave with the skills needed to tackle your own adventures safely and responsibly.
At Eureka, we believe the best way to learn is to get out there, and that’s exactly what we do.
Our highly experienced and dedicated instructors are seasoned 4WD professionals, who keep up to date with all the modern features found in the latest 4WD vehicles, so we will be able to show you how to get the most out of your vehicle. Our highly experienced and dedicated instructors are seasoned 4WD professionals with decades of real-world driving, recovery, and terrain experience. They continually stay up to date with the latest 4WD technology, vehicle systems, and modern driver-assist features found in today’s off-road vehicles, from traction control and diff-locks to crawl modes, terrain management systems, downhill assist, and more.
Because our trainers work with a wide range of 4WD makes and models every week, they understand how each vehicle behaves differently in sand, mud, rocks, steep climbs, water crossings, gravel, and rugged bush environments. This allows them to teach you how to maximise your vehicle’s capability, improve safety, and operate confidently in all conditions.
Whether you drive a brand-new 4WD with advanced electronics or an older, mechanically driven model, our instructors will show you how to get the most out of your vehicle, understand its strengths and limitations, and apply correct techniques to keep you, your passengers, and your vehicle safe.
Depending on the terrain and conditions on the day, our Recreational 4WD Course covers a comprehensive range of practical off-road driving skills. For the safety of all participants and to comply with local council, shire, and land management regulations, pets are not permitted on any Eureka 4WD Training course.
Many of the areas we train in are subject to 1080 baiting programs, wildlife protection zones, and environmental regulations. These factors pose significant risks to animals, particularly dogs, even when kept inside vehicles. To ensure the safety of your pets and to maintain compliance with land access requirements, we kindly ask that no animals are brought to any training session.
For safety reasons, alcohol is strictly prohibited before and during all courses.
Our training involves navigating challenging terrain, using recovery equipment, and operating vehicles in conditions that require full attention and sound judgement. Alcohol consumption not only compromises safety but also breaches workplace and regulatory requirements. Anyone found to be under the influence of alcohol will not be able to participate and may be asked to leave the training area.
For safety reasons, if the Department of Fire and Emergency Services imposes a Total Fire Ban (TFB) on the scheduled date of a course, the course will be postponed at no cost to participants.
Penalties for breaching a TFB:
Up to $25,000 in fines and/or 12 months imprisonment.
We will attempt to notify all participants at the earliest convenience once DFES releases TFB information (generally around 5:00 PM the day prior).
If a Shire imposes a Harvest Vehicle Movement Ban (HVMB) on the day of a course, the course will also be postponed at no cost to participants.
Penalties for breaching a HVMB:
Up to $25,000 in fines and/or 12 months imprisonment.
HVMBs may be issued at any time without warning; we will contact participants as soon as we are made aware of a ban.

These vehicles are maintained to the highest standards and are purpose-built for training, ensuring participants learn in safe, capable, and modern 4WDs that reflect real workplace requirements.
For organisations or individuals who prefer training to be completed in their own vehicles, we can easily accommodate this, provided the vehicle is suitable for the specific course requirements. This is often beneficial for commercial clients, as participants gain practical experience directly relevant to the vehicles they operate in their day-to-day roles.
